Evaluating Katy Perry

Lowest note: D3
Highest belt:  F#5
Highest note: Bb5
Exclamation: C#7
Vocal range: 2 octaves 4 notes 1 semitone
Vocal grade: D

Vocal positives:
Her strongest range is from G#3-F5, where her belts are mostly well-controlled and her notes in the third octave are more or less well-supported. She possesses a thick chest register that allows her to be able to belt out notes in the fifth octave.

Vocal negatives:
She tends to go off-key and become nasal in live settings. Her diction is unpolished at certain times and her vocals can be perceived as 'icy'. She needs a lot of help from the studio as there is little substance in her vocals live. She struggles as basic belts like C5 live and resorts to using falsetto instead of belting using her chest voice.

  1. This is ridiculous, how can you put Katy Perry as low as a D (???) and then think somebody like Adele with her boring, ugly whine deserves an A?? You clearly haven't got a clue what you're on about at all!
